1. Necessary conditions for legal entry into the EU market
Mandatory requirements: All network cables sold in the EU must bear the CE mark, otherwise they may be detained, fined or removed from the shelves by customs.
Coverage: Applicable to all fixed installations (such as building wiring) and some removable network cables (such as jumpers), but CPR certification only applies to fixed installation cables.
2. Improve product safety and compliance
CE certification involves multiple key tests to ensure that network cables meet EU standards:
Electrical safety (LVD): Prevent risks such as short circuits and overheating.
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC): Reduce signal interference and ensure network stability.
Environmental protection (RoHS): Limit harmful substances such as lead and mercury to comply with EU environmental regulations.
Fire resistance (CPR): If the network cable is used for fixed installation inside a building, it must additionally meet the CPR fire rating requirements (such as C/D/E).
