1. Different functions
The optical cross-connect box is the access point from optical fiber to the indoor area, which is used to detect the optical fiber's transceiver signals and distribute the optical fiber signals to different users; while the fiber splitter box distributes telecommunication signals, including voice, data and video, and is also the access point for receiving lines.
2. Different structures
The optical cross-connect box is a relatively small box made of aluminum alloy. Various modules are set inside, such as optical fiber, optical cable, optical fiber distributor, optical fiber interface, etc., and there is also a grounding column outside. The fiber splitter box is a relatively large box with a more complex structure. Various modules are set inside, such as branch fiber cables, signal amplifiers, power regulators, line protectors, controllers, etc. Antenna receivers and grounding columns are also set outside.
3. Different installation locations
The installation location of the optical cross-connect box has requirements. It must be placed indoors and installed on the wall. A grounding column should be equipped on the outside. The installation location of the fiber splitter box is not so strict. It is generally installed outdoors without the need for a grounding column.
